Your TurnToday's art students are faced with the interesting challenge of the melding of art and technology. Most students at the Art Institutes will spend more than 50% of their classroom time working with a computer, keyboard, and mouse in front of them. These have become the "tools of the trade". Along with the hardware they use, there are a number of software titles that they will come to depend on to create works of art, package designs, interactive multimedia programs or stunning virtual interior spaces. Software packages like Photoshop, Illustrator, Autocad, or XPress will help them gain the skills to get a job in the field they choose. This is where JourneyEd comes to prominence. Not only do we work with Journey to secure the software we install in our classrooms, with Journey's help, the Art Institutes works with software suppliers to secure agreements that add value to the students enrolled in our programs. One such value that we offer is our Creative Cast. Through Journey, we were able to meet with a number of software companies and create a one-stop-shop for our students needs. Since its inception, the Creative Cast has evolved to a software set that students use while pursuing a degree in their specific academic area. Carl Huhn, Regional IT Specialist, Art Institutes |
