JourneyEd Selected by FCCCJourneyEd was recently selected by the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) to handle the Microsoft Student Select program for its 109 member consortia and 2 million students. Students, teachers and school staff members at community colleges throughout California which are part of FCCC may now purchase personal copies of popular Microsoft software packages at significant savings through the Microsoft Student Select Program. This program is made available by a licensing agreement between Microsoft and FCCC and administered through Digital River Education Services Inc. (JourneyEd) and Hewlett-Packard. "FCCC is excited to move forward, working with JourneyEd, which has made a commitment to promote the Microsoft Student Select program," said Joseph Quintana, Director of Purchasing programs for FCCC. "We have been offering the Student Select program to students at the 109 California Community Colleges for several years but sales have not been at the levels we had anticipated. FCCC has decided that we want a partner like JourneyEd, which focuses on marketing and will take the lead in getting the word out to students" FCCC assists community colleges (and other partner schools) to operate more effectively and efficiently through donations, grants, programs, and services that drive excellence while saving millions of dollars each year. JourneyEd is creating eStores for each participating school. In addition to the Microsoft Student Select product, students, faculty and staff at the participating schools will also be able to purchase all other products that Journey offers. The Student Select program enables faculty, staff and students to buy single Microsoft products for home use at a discount of up to 85 percent. The program makes it easy, accessible and affordable for teachers and students to work on school projects at home on the computer, using the same Microsoft programs used at their schools. Students, faculty and staff of FCCC member institutions may place orders online at www.collegesoftware.org. The online store is operated by Digital River Education Services, which operates more than 10,000 online student software stores for schools and college bookstores nationwide. School staff, faculty, students and their parents simply select their school to begin using the eStore at www.collegesoftware.org. Students, faculty and staff of FCCC member institutions are eligible to make purchases under the program with no individual enrollment, membership or registration fees. The Student Select program allows students, their parents, faculty and school staff to purchase one copy per product version per student. JourneyEd also handles the entire purchase transaction, including shipping the order directly to the customer. |
