AICUP Partnership FlourishesThe Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP) works with software reseller Digital River Education Services for one main reason: a favorable track-record. AICUP entrusts JourneyEd with managing and executing the software procurement for its 85 college and university members. From the inception of the AICUP/JourneyEd software procurement program in 2004, AICUP's Microsoft/Adobe Program has evolved into one of AICUP's most widely accessed Member Service program. Through AICUP's association with JourneyEd, AICUP member institutions receive exceptional pricing with a simplified procurement process. AICUP's Tim Alexander, VP of Finance and Administration, says, "Journey Ed handles all the mechanics of the program on AICUP's behalf, providing marketing materials, customized websites, online verification, order fulfillment, physical media update mailings, recordkeeping on licensing, and ongoing customer service. The JourneyEd managed programs substantially ease the burden of software compliance. In addition, the online access for both campus administrators and end-users make the program's benefits readily accessible to those AICUP is trying to reach." From the very practical viewpoint, Alexander's associate, Rosemary Boileau, says, "I appreciate JourneyEd's ongoing communications with members and their clear recordkeeping. Any questions or problems AICUP members encounter with the program are addressed directly by JourneyEd account representative, Tim Lilly. While pricing and simplified procurement entice our members, it's Tim Lilly's timely 'get-it-done' service that keeps them coming back." The results have been phenomenal. The Microsoft/Adobe Program has saved AICUP members hundreds of thusands of dollars, while ensuring that all campus-based software is legal and fully registered. Microsoft representatives have referred to the AICUP Student Select Program with JourneyEd as a "model" for private college consortia and has said it is "the largest and best run consortia-operated Student Select contract in the country." "With this success and reputation," asks Alexander, "why would AICUP look to another reseller?" |
