AceReader Pro is three tools in one: (1) it can be used as a Speed Reading, Reading Improvement Training Tool to help increase your reading speed/comprehension both on and off the computer, (2) it can be used as a Reading Assessment Tool to determine and track your reading speed and comprehension, and (3) it can be used as an Online Reader to help you read web pages, email, word processing documents, ebooks... more efficiently.
AceReader helps you break several bad habits: (1) Subvocalization (pronouncing the words in your mind while you read), and (2) Re-Reading (letting your eyes wander back and re-read text that you previously read). AceReader paces you to read at higher speeds. At these higher speeds it becomes physically impossible to subvocalize. Because AceReader displays text by flashing word sets, you will be forced to read ahead and will not have the opportunity to re-read.
There 4 versions of this product are available: 1. AceReader Pro: Recommended if only one person will be using the program and you are not interested in customizing the tests, drills or games. 2.AceReader Pro Deluxe: Recommended for multi-user/family/home usage. Includes editors that allow customization of tests, drills and games. Program settings and test scores are kept separate for each user. Handle up to 5 users. 3.AceReader Pro Deluxe Plus: Recommended for non-networked computers in school environment. Each installation can handle unlimited number of users. 4.AceReader Pro Deluxe Network: Recommended for networked/reading-lab/school environments or when you want to install the software on more than 5 computers. With this version, the students do not need to sit in front of the same computer for each session and teachers can monitor the progress of all the students from any computer on the network.
