Edmark Reading Program Level 1 is designed to teach beginning reading and language development to nonreaders. This program is designed for students with learning or developmental disabilities and those who have not succeeded with other reading methods.<p>
Highly regarded by teaching professionals, the Edmark Reading Program Level 1 is a treasured tool, allowing those who have struggled with other reading methods to master basic reading skills. Level 1 teaches 150 words chosen from the Dolch Word List and first grade readers, as well as  "-s," "-ed," and "-ing" endings, capitalization, and punctuation. From the beginning, students find success with a process that teaches a word, introduces its meaning, provides comprehension activities, and uses the word in story context. Short instructional steps, repetition, and constant positive reinforcement build self-confidence.<p>
